In the printing and dyeing of knitted fabrics, foaming can cause the fabric to float on the water surface; in severe cases, it may lead to defects such as fabric blockage. So… Defoamer What about its usage in dyeing and finishing?
1. Technical Features
Defoamers are surfactants—such as alcohols, ethers, and silicone oils—that adsorb onto the surface of the material. Upon application, they spread outward, thinning the foam and disrupting the gas–liquid interface. As oriented molecules form, an adsorption layer develops, ultimately leading to foam rupture.
2. Certain characteristics must be kept in mind during use.
Choose defoamers that deliver rapid defoaming and long-lasting foam suppression, while being readily soluble in water for ease of handling. Such defoamers are ideally suited for use with nonionic surfactants and provide excellent performance.
