Fermentation antifoaming agent It is a defoamer specially designed for fermentation processes, categorized into oil-based defoamers, Silicone defoamer Compound oil-based defoamers, such as erythromycin, gentamicin, avermectin, kanamycin, penicillin, citric acid, lysine, and yeast‑derived products, are widely employed in various fermentation‑based defoaming processes and are also extensively used in veterinary‑drug manufacturing and downstream extraction procedures.
Efficacy and Performance
1. Excellent defoaming performance.
2. Low dosage, high efficiency.
3. Fast defoaming speed and excellent stability.
4. This product is non-toxic and odorless, contributing to production safety.
5. Acid-resistant, alkali-resistant, and high-temperature resistant.
6. Active ingredient content: 98%; pH (1% aqueous solution): 6–8.
Instructions for Use
①This product can be added all at once to the base formulation.
② Continuously add the reactant to the fermentation broth by dropwise addition or fed-batch feeding.
③ Usage level: When used alone, add 0.15%–0.2% by volume of the formulation; when combined with 0.01%–0.03% of a defoamer, a dosage of 0.05%–0.1% is sufficient to achieve excellent defoaming performance.
1) Depending on the characteristics of the fermentation process, it can be added to the base medium or fed continuously in a later stage after high‑temperature sterilization.
2) It can be mixed with vegetable oils such as soybean oil for defoaming and foam suppression.
3) The recommended addition level is 0.1‰–0.3‰, which is 1/3 to 1/2 of the dosage typically used for polyether- and silicone-based defoamers.
4) Practical application has demonstrated that, prior to use, determining an appropriate addition rate based on the characteristics of the fermentation process can help increase yield; however, excessive addition of antifoaming agents may adversely affect microbial growth.
Product Safety
1. It is recommended that, prior to selection, a small sample of the foaming liquid be used to conduct defoaming tests under actual operating conditions and to determine the optimal dosage of the defoamer.
2. When used as an antifoaming agent in pharmaceuticals and food products, it shall be handled in strict accordance with the requirements of the Pharmacopoeia and relevant regulations, and must undergo disinfection and sterilization prior to use.
