Defoamer It is widely used, with products employed across various industries. But do you know what factors can affect the performance of defoamers?
There are many factors that influence defoamers, at least two of which are:
1) The defoamer is solubilized by the surfactant.
2) The defoamer’s active ingredient can be absorbed by the resin particles.
Defoaming performance under static conditions. When the bubbly liquid returns to the storage tank or directly to the packaging container, rapid defoaming is also acceptable.
The defoaming performance of a defoamer under dynamic conditions
1) Dynamic defoaming performance in relatively confined small spaces. Since gas enters the bubbles, a brief drop in external pressure further promotes bubble formation and stabilization. Wetting agents and emulsifiers exert a contracting effect on the gas inside the bubbles; individually, this effect may be negligible, but when multiplied by tens or hundreds of millions, it becomes significant.
2) The open‑type dynamic defoaming effect: when a single‑sheet flexographic press is converted into a varnishing machine, the narrow gap between the adhesive roller and the ink roller is exposed to high‑speed rotation, causing bubbles to form very rapidly.
Machine applicability
1) Temperature. Variations in temperature lead to changes in the foam-stabilizing and defoaming properties of surfactants.
2) Customer habits.
No matter how we test the defoamer in the factory, it always passes; yet once it reaches the customer, it fails. We were baffled until, after visiting the site, we realized the issue: the customer was diluting the product far more heavily. For a given dilution ratio, the decline in foam stability of emulsifiers and wetting agents does not align with the reduction in the defoamer’s defoaming performance.
Product Applications:
Polyester fibers, medium- and high-temperature dyeing, high-temperature overflow dyeing, jet dyeing, high-temperature dyeing of polyester fabrics, water treatment in the dyeing process for polyester-cotton textiles, textile auxiliaries, bleaching, sizing, and more.
Packaging, Storage, and Transportation:
It can be stored for more than six months in an environment of approximately 25°C. Do not expose to direct sunlight. Packaged in 25‑kg and 50‑kg plastic drums, or in 120‑kg lined steel drums, with packaging options available upon customer request.
