Silicone defoamer Silicone defoamers are formulated by blending silicone oil, emulsifiers, water-repellent agents, thickeners, and other ingredients with an appropriate amount of water, followed by mechanical emulsification. They feature low surface tension, high surface activity, strong defoaming performance, minimal dosage requirements, and low cost. These defoamers are immiscible with water and most organic substances, effectively suppressing foam in a wide range of foaming media. They exhibit excellent thermal stability, making them suitable for use across a temperature range of –5°C to –150°C, and possess superior chemical stability, resisting reactions with other substances; when properly formulated, they can be used in acidic, alkaline, and saline solutions without compromising product quality. Additionally, they are physiologically inert, rendering them ideal for applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. With both foam‑inhibiting and foam‑breaking properties, they belong to the category of broad‑spectrum defoamers. They are widely employed to control foam in manufacturing processes such as detergents, papermaking, pulp production, sugar refining, electroplating, fertilizer production, auxiliary agent formulation, and wastewater treatment.
Non-silicone defoamer: The inorganic silicone defoamer is a beige‑yellow liquid with a pH of approximately 7. It delivers exceptionally strong defoaming performance. This defoamer is an organic compound based on polyethers, alcohols, hydrocarbons, and other organic substances. Its key advantages include rapid penetration into foam structures and swift dispersion, effectively eliminating even the most stubborn foam while maintaining stable defoaming at high temperatures. Additionally, it leaves no residual silicone deposits, making it highly effective.
Characteristics of inorganic silicone‑free defoamers: These defoamers are manufactured using imported processes and contain no organic silicon whatsoever, ensuring there is no residual silicone staining. When added to water‑based inks, printing inks, coatings, or adhesives, they cause no adverse effects. They are particularly beneficial in industries such as PCB manufacturing and wastewater treatment. Usage of silicone‑free defoamers: Adjust the dosage according to the specific foam system; a recommended range is approximately 0.4–0.5%. Mix thoroughly with water or the working solution, or add directly. Use only in aqueous environments below 100°C. Ensure thorough mixing during application.
