Recently, a certain automotive parts manufacturer called to inquire about rubber vulcanization. Silicone defoamer matters. After a thorough discussion, I learned that Mr. Li frequently encounters foaming issues during the rubber vulcanization process. He has tried defoamers from several other companies, but none have yielded satisfactory results.
The automotive weatherstripping produced at Mr. Li’s factory is one of the critical components of a vehicle. It serves important functions, including waterproofing, sealing, sound insulation, dust prevention, freeze protection, shock absorption, thermal insulation, and energy conservation. Because it must possess high tensile strength, excellent elasticity, and superior heat and aging resistance, any foaming during production must be strictly avoided to prevent poor product quality. The primary reasons for bubble formation during rubber vulcanization are analyzed as follows:
1. The additives in the rubber compound are not uniformly dispersed;
2. The mixing temperature is low, and water is present but does not evaporate. At higher temperatures, when sulfur is added in an open mill, it tends to melt or char.

3. Rubber materials cannot be stored for a sufficient period of time, or they cannot be stored for production purposes;
4. The rubber composite material exhibits uneven heating temperatures, resulting in a non-smooth surface during molding.
5. When rubber compounds are melted on an open mill, their surfaces become entrapped with air, and the discharged rubber may trap air as well.
6. Incomplete vulcanization; when unfamiliar, it may appear as bubbles.
7. The roll temperature of the rolling mill, the refining temperature, and the extrusion and discharge temperatures are not strictly controlled, resulting in bubbles on the surface of the semi-finished product.
After gaining an understanding of the relevant circumstances, our technical team recommended an organosilicone defoamer to him. This organosilicone defoamer is a highly effective defoaming agent, refined through a specialized processing technique that incorporates multiple defoaming active ingredients, and it offers the following key functions:
1. Strong defoaming performance, with a low dosage that does not compromise the fundamental properties of the foaming system.
2. Excellent heat resistance, chemical structural stability, non-corrosive, non-toxic, free from adverse reactions or side effects, and does not burn or explode.
